Your Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist is accountable for driving projects and improvement activities through technical consulting and value delivery leadership, for a range of Vaccines GIO activities within GSK.
The Data Scientist will execute advanced computational approaches to build novel and innovative models using advanced analytics techniques, to solve challenging business problems; work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that models are translated into data solutions.
Advanced communications skills are critical for this role, with particular strengths required in distilling and communicating complex concepts, displaying information visually and making the patterns and insights revealed in data clear and compelling. They can communicate in language that all their stakeholders understand, and demonstrate the special skills involved in storytelling with data, both verbally and visually. They advise executives and product owners on the implications of the data for products, processes, and decisions and are highly skilled at rapidly building effective relationships with all levels of the organisational.
The Data Scientist will collaborate with others in GSK in experimentation in new and emerging data science technologies such as Machine/Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence, exploit established statistical tools such as multi-variate regression analysis and utilise data modelling and optimisation tools.
The Data Scientist will leverage structured sources of enterprise data and unstructured external data to provide insights to accelerate process understanding and problem solving in manufacturing
The Data Scientist is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools for building and implementing models, creating and using algorithms and simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.
The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes - data scientists make discoveries while swimming in data.
