High regarded legal role for a reputable bank in Brussels
Hays Executive is seeking a Legal and Managing Counsel for the Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs division with a highly regarded international financial service company located in Brussels area. The company has a solid reputation on the financial market and is an established financial organisation. The role offers a great autonomy and independence in a challenging work environment.
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory and Supervisory Affairs located in United Kingdom, you will be in charge of supporting Compliance and the Office of Regulatory Relations in their management of the company's relationship with EU and UK regulators with a primary focus on current EMEA strategic priorities such as operational resilience, third party governance and cyber security. This will include advising the business in connection with all aspects of the company's local and international regulatory and supervisory relationships. Responsibilities will also include support for preparation of presentations, speakers, and other materials for such examinations and coordination with the Office of Regulatory Relations.
The right person for this opportunity will have minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal department of a financial institution, regulator or trade association. You should have a strong knowledge of the financial services, banking industry and regulation and the ability to manage interactions with senior business leaders as well as with EU and UK regulators. A Belgian law degree will be required but a German/Dutch/Luxembourg law degree are also possible. Adeptability, credibility and strong analytical skills are characteristics of you. A fluency in English is required and other languages are an asset.
